I went to Auburn this past weekend, it was good. My counts are FINALLY starting to come up. They think I will be ready for chemo next monday, but we aren't sure yet. But after this round only 1 more to go and hopefully I'll be done!!!!! yay

ok well today(Saturday) we were supposed to go to Auburn for the welcome to auburn fundraiser but we didn't go because I woke up this morning not feeling to good. I'm not feeling well because my counts are low. They should be coming up sometime next week. This coming weekend we are going to Auburn because one it's the Georgia game and two because Dad closes on his house and we can't wait to see it all done. You can still donate to the foundation for a blanket warmer for the clinic. Well I'm watching the Clemson game and it's getting pretty good so I'll update in the next few days.

Well I was discharged yesterday(monday) and feeling okay
but going down hill b/c my counts are dropping. Dad finished
the marathon in 3 hrs. 48mins (remember it was 26 miles). We
also got information from MCG about the blanket warmer and
are excited about being able to purchase one from the funds
Dad raised( website for donation:
runcoachrun.ORG people org!!) One of our friends, Len
Ferguson, created a slide show of my journey so far and it's
on You Tube(www.youtube.com) if
you want to watch it click on the video tab near the top of
your screen and type Mary-Louise Pawlowski in the search
link. The video should be at the top of your search results.
Well that's about it, I go into the clinic
tomorrow(Wednesday) to get my counts checked so I'll update
later.

Well I just arrived in my penthouse suite. haha yea I wish. I'm
not sure when they'll get my chemo started but it'll be sometime
today. I have just developed a craving for some sesame chicken.
yummy. well i'm getting off now. bye!!

Yesterday I went to the clinic to get my counts checked and it
was sooo weird because Dr. Bell came into the room and she said
that she didn't have to give me anything(we were expecting that
I was going to need platelets and blood). She thinks that my
counts dropped and already are starting to come up. Last
Wednesday and Thursday I wasn't feeling good at all and then we
went into the clinic on Friday and my counts were fine. It was
kinda weird because my counts have never came up that fast. But
yea anyways that's about it.

well chemo went well yesterday, i'm just feeling yucky. my mom found out how much a blanket warmer cost and it cost between 5,000 and 10,000 dollars so please help and donate at www.runcoachrun.org
THIS JUST IN!!!!!
My bad everyone. I posted the update below this morning but it was really an update from last week soooooo my out patient chemo(one day instead of two) is tomorrow instead of next wednesday or thursday. My apologies. Tomorrow I will find out how much a blanket warmer cost since everyone is wondering. For all of you who don't know what a blanket warmer is google it. haha just kidding it looks like a stainless steel refridgerator and it holds well my mom and i sat here wondering how many but we don't know how many it truly holds anyways it holds a bunch of blankets and keeps them nice and toasty for people like my mom and me who freeeeeeze to death at the clinic. And see now if you were to ask for a blanket it would be colder than the temperature of the room so that is why i want to get them a blanket warmer. well i am extremely tired and i must get my rest considering how many times i have hit the backspace key.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while but I got out of the
hospital last sunday. I've just been feeling so well that I've
been spending my time doing fun stuff other than being on the
computer if you know what I mean. So next week I have to go in
for out-patient chemo, either wednesday or thursday. But it
won't be so bad because I only have to go in for one day instead
of two. I don't know why that is but it is. Well thats about it.
Don't know if all of you that read my updates know that MCG
is going to be renovating the children's oncology clinic. That
is where I go see my doctors in between chemo treatments for
them to check my counts, get blood and all that other time
consuming check-up stuff I have to do. Anyway, my Dad runs a big
marathon every year (last year he finished the one in Chicago).
When he was at College of Charleston he would raise money for
his baseball program, but now that he's at Auburn he doesn't
have to do that. So, we want to raise money for the renovations
at the Hematology/Oncology Clinic. You can read about the
renovation plans on MCG's website, and you can read more about
my Dad's plan at
www.runcoachrun.org.
I really want to raise enough money to get the clinic a blanket
warmer-with my name on it!- because patients like me get really
cold when we are there for a long time getting treatment. Thanks
alot, and thanks for always checking on me.

Well, you know how my last update I said I wasn't feeling well? By
Sunday I was running a hugely high fever and my Mom had to take me to
the ER at MCG. My doctors admitted me and here I still am. So far all
the tests they have done, including a CT (drinking that contrast stuff
is disgusting), are negative so they aren't sure what is causing the
fever except not having any immune system right now. But, they are
giving me every medicine they can think of to help me, and I am starting
to feel a little better.
Hey Len, thanks for the awesome pics of all the PURPLE cars that were at
the show on Saturday. I wish I could have gone, and now it looks like I
might miss the one on the 27th too. Hopefully you'll see that '56 Chevy
truck my mom is so crazy about!

Well I got back Sunday, I feel okay kinda. but my counts are
probably going down. I go to the clinic tomorrow so that should be fun,
ha just kidding. This weekend we are going to Auburn for the LSU game. I
also started home bound today.
Well I believe I am going into the hospital today so my next update won't be until well I don't know when. Got to go pack.

I went to the Clemson game yesterday and it was fun. We won 45 to 17. The dermatologist think my rash is psoriasis. So they gave me some more creams to put on it, and I have to lay in a light box for 5 minutes three times a week for two weeks. Hopefully that will help it. My chemo is on hold until the rash goes away on my chest. Because the clinic can't access my port if the rash is still there. Well I'm feeling fine!!!
Posted Sept 4, 2008 2:27pm
I was supposed to go into the hospital yesterday(Wednesday) but they wouldn't admit me because of the rash I have. So tomorrow I am going to meet with the Dermatologist again. I think it will be the fifth time. They still don't know what this thing is. The biopsy results showed either an acute drug reaction or an early on-set of psoriasis. But my oncologist said there was no way that it could be psoriasis. So hopefully tomorrow they will figure it out. This weekend we might go to Clemson for the football game. I don't know yet.
Posted Aug 31, 2008 10:07am
Well hey guys, I'm in Auburn this weekend. We came down for the football game Saturday, and Christine and I are working camp today(31st ) and tomorrow. Then I'm scheduled for chemo on Wednesday for a 5 day in-patient round. So last Friday(29th) I had to go back to the dermatologist because the rash that I told you about came back. But it's worst than before. So they took a biopsy of it, which hurt. They numbed up one of the bumps with some cream, then they gave me a shot in it of lidocane, then they took this hole puncher thing and took off two layers of skin that had the red bump on it. They are expecting the results to be back Tuesday. Hopefully I will be able to go in the hospital on Wednesday. My birthday was good, and everything here is great.

I haven't been on in a
while and that is bad
because I just didn't
feel like it which is
kinda dumb considering I
feel fine. That is just
laziness on my part.
Anyways last Monday(the
11th) I went into the
clinic for a cardiogram,
that went fine, and
chemo. But then
they(people in the
clinic) sent me to the
dermatologist to check
out this rash I had on
my chest, arms, and
legs. It turned out to
be nothing, and it's
gone now, sorta. So then
I didn't have chemo on
Monday, I had it on
Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday was not a good
day because I got sick(eww)
and Wednesday was ok but
not great. Now I feel
fine and my counts are
in the process of
dropping. I don't have
any plans for my
birthday because my
counts will probably be
low by thursday.

Well I just got home and
I had sooo much fun.
Hard Rock Park was fun
but it was shockingly
empty. Absolutely no one
was there. I asked the
lady at the entrance if
it was always like that
and she said "yep". It
was fun not waiting in
line. Saturday night we
went to the Alabama
Theater and saw this
show called "one". It
was really good.
Tomorrow I go get an
echocardiogram and have
chemo(outpatient round,
monday and tuesday).
August 7, 2008 4:35pm
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!!! Well in my last update I mentioned going to the beach. But not only do I get to go to the beach... I'M GOING TO HARD ROCK PARK!!!! I didn't think we were going to be able to go because on monday my platelets were only 53,000 and they have to be 100,000 to ride a roller coaster. So when I went to the clinic today Dr. Ameri said my platelets were 105,000(I nearly SCREAMED) and I asked him if I could ride a roller coaster and after he told us the story of how his cousin gave her third husband(she didn't really like that one) a heart attack on a roller coaster he said yes!!!! SO I'M GOING TO HARD ROCK PARK!!!! yayyyy
birthday: 8-21 =)

August 3, 2008 8:48pm
Well I was supposed to go in for an out-patient round of chemo tomorrow(monday the 4th) but for some odd reason my platelet count just won't come up. My white blood cell count is fine. So I'm not sure when I'll be able to have that round. And my mom and dad are thinking about taking us to disney world over Christmas break. I think it would be soooo much fun!!! I'm pretty sure I'll be done with chemo by then so I won't have to worry about a hectic schedule. Well my birthday is almost here YAY.
Jul 27, 2008 11:24am
Well I know I haven't been on in a while so I'm going to fill you in. The week of the 14th I had chemo in the hospital and got out the 19th. So now I'm just waiting on my counts to come up. I feel okay but not the best. And I'm so excited for my birthday(aug. 21)!! I can't wait. ** I want to thank Len and The Casual Corvettes for my AWESOME model purple corvette!!! I LOVE IT ** For all the people thinking were moving to AL, I've lived just with my mom for seven years, were not moving away from North Augusta.

We all just call her mlp when typing. its easier.*** okay, back to mlp's day. Since I've gotten here its been pretty crazy. A couple of her friends came down for a little while to visit. GUESS WHAT?! Mary-Louise walked for the first time today! She went for a stroll around the hospital today! YAY MARY-LOUISE! she was quite excited! instead of using a walker to support her she pushes around a wheel chair! lol. mlp is staying positive through all of this. and whenever im around she just can't stop laughing! :) haha, well her friends being around probably is part of it too! well that's all for right now, that i can remember.
