I went to Auburn this past weekend, it was good. My counts are FINALLY starting to come up. They think I will be ready for chemo next monday, but we aren't sure yet. But after this round only 1 more to go and hopefully I'll be done!!!!! yay

Posted Nov 8, 5:39pm

ok well today(Saturday) we were supposed to go to Auburn for the welcome to auburn fundraiser but we didn't go because I woke up this morning not feeling to good. I'm not feeling well because my counts are low. They should be coming up sometime next week. This coming weekend we are going to Auburn because one it's the Georgia game and two because Dad closes on his house and we can't wait to see it all done. You can still donate to the foundation for a blanket warmer for the clinic. Well I'm watching the Clemson game and it's getting pretty good so I'll update in the next few days.

Posted Nov 4, 2008 8:54pm

Well I was discharged yesterday(monday) and feeling okay but going down hill b/c my counts are dropping. Dad finished the marathon in 3 hrs. 48mins (remember it was 26 miles). We also got information from MCG about the blanket warmer and are excited about being able to purchase one from the funds Dad raised( website for donation: runcoachrun.ORG people org!!) One of our friends, Len Ferguson, created a slide show of my journey so far and it's on You Tube(www.youtube.com) if you want to watch it click on the video tab near the top of your screen and type Mary-Louise Pawlowski in the search link. The video should be at the top of your search results. Well that's about it, I go into the clinic tomorrow(Wednesday) to get my counts checked so I'll update later.

Posted Oct 29, 2008 2:20pm
Well I just arrived in my penthouse suite. haha yea I wish. I'm not sure when they'll get my chemo started but it'll be sometime today. I have just developed a craving for some sesame chicken. yummy. well i'm getting off now. bye!!

Yesterday I went to the clinic to get my counts checked and it was sooo weird because Dr. Bell came into the room and she said that she didn't have to give me anything(we were expecting that I was going to need platelets and blood). She thinks that my counts dropped and already are starting to come up. Last Wednesday and Thursday I wasn't feeling good at all and then we went into the clinic on Friday and my counts were fine. It was kinda weird because my counts have never came up that fast. But yea anyways that's about it.

well chemo went well yesterday, i'm just feeling yucky. my mom found out how much a blanket warmer cost and it cost between 5,000 and 10,000 dollars so please help and donate at www.runcoachrun.org

THIS JUST IN!!!!!

My bad everyone. I posted the update below this morning but it was really an update from last week soooooo my out patient chemo(one day instead of two) is tomorrow instead of next wednesday or thursday. My apologies. Tomorrow I will find out how much a blanket warmer cost since everyone is wondering. For all of you who don't know what a blanket warmer is google it. haha just kidding it looks like a stainless steel refridgerator and it holds well my mom and i sat here wondering how many but we don't know how many it truly holds anyways it holds a bunch of blankets and keeps them nice and toasty for people like my mom and me who freeeeeeze to death at the clinic. And see now if you were to ask for a blanket it would be colder than the temperature of the room so that is why i want to get them a blanket warmer. well i am extremely tired and i must get my rest considering how many times i have hit the backspace key.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while but I got out of the hospital last sunday. I've just been feeling so well that I've been spending my time doing fun stuff other than being on the computer if you know what I mean. So next week I have to go in for out-patient chemo, either wednesday or thursday. But it won't be so bad because I only have to go in for one day instead of two. I don't know why that is but it is. Well thats about it.

Don't know if all of you that read my updates know that MCG is going to be renovating the children's oncology clinic. That is where I go see my doctors in between chemo treatments for them to check my counts, get blood and all that other time consuming check-up stuff I have to do. Anyway, my Dad runs a big marathon every year (last year he finished the one in Chicago). When he was at College of Charleston he would raise money for his baseball program, but now that he's at Auburn he doesn't have to do that. So, we want to raise money for the renovations at the Hematology/Oncology Clinic. You can read about the renovation plans on MCG's website, and you can read more about my Dad's plan at www.runcoachrun.org.

I really want to raise enough money to get the clinic a blanket warmer-with my name on it!- because patients like me get really cold when we are there for a long time getting treatment. Thanks alot, and thanks for always checking on me.

Well, you know how my last update I said I wasn't feeling well? By Sunday I was running a hugely high fever and my Mom had to take me to the ER at MCG. My doctors admitted me and here I still am. So far all the tests they have done, including a CT (drinking that contrast stuff is disgusting), are negative so they aren't sure what is causing the fever except not having any immune system right now. But, they are giving me every medicine they can think of to help me, and I am starting to feel a little better.
Hey Len, thanks for the awesome pics of all the PURPLE cars that were at the show on Saturday. I wish I could have gone, and now it looks like I might miss the one on the 27th too. Hopefully you'll see that '56 Chevy truck my mom is so crazy about!

Well i haven't been feeling too good lately so i didn't go to Auburn. We'll probably go next weekend. my counts are pretty low too. So i get to just chill at home till they come up.

Posted Sept 16, 2008  4:48pm
Well I got back Sunday, I feel okay kinda. but my counts are probably going down. I go to the clinic tomorrow so that should be fun, ha just kidding. This weekend we are going to Auburn for the LSU game. I also started home bound today.

Posted Sept 9, 2008  9:37am

Well I believe I am going into the hospital today so my next update won't be until well I don't know when. Got to go pack.

Posted Sept 7, 2008 10:01am

I went to the Clemson game yesterday and it was fun. We won 45 to 17. The dermatologist think my rash is psoriasis. So they gave me some more creams to put on it, and I have to lay in a light box for 5 minutes three times a week for two weeks. Hopefully that will help it. My chemo is on hold until the rash goes away on my chest. Because the clinic can't access my port if the rash is still there. Well I'm feeling fine!!!

Posted Sept 4, 2008 2:27pm
I was supposed to go into the hospital yesterday(Wednesday) but they wouldn't admit me because of the rash I have. So tomorrow I am going to meet with the Dermatologist again. I think it will be the fifth time. They still don't know what this thing is. The biopsy results showed either an acute drug reaction or an early on-set of psoriasis. But my oncologist said there was no way that it could be psoriasis. So hopefully tomorrow they will figure it out. This weekend we might go to Clemson for the football game. I don't know yet.

Posted Aug 31, 2008 10:07am

Well hey guys, I'm in Auburn this weekend. We came down for the football game Saturday, and Christine and I are working camp today(31st ) and tomorrow. Then I'm scheduled for chemo on Wednesday for a 5 day in-patient round. So last Friday(29th) I had to go back to the dermatologist because the rash that I told you about came back. But it's worst than before. So they took a biopsy of it, which hurt. They numbed up one of the bumps with some cream, then they gave me a shot in it of lidocane, then they took this hole puncher thing and took off two layers of skin that had the red bump on it. They are expecting the results to be back Tuesday. Hopefully I will be able to go in the hospital on Wednesday. My birthday was good, and everything here is great.

August 19, 2008 3:39pm
I haven't been on in a while and that is bad because I just didn't feel like it which is kinda dumb considering I feel fine. That is just laziness on my part. Anyways last Monday(the 11th) I went into the clinic for a cardiogram, that went fine, and chemo. But then they(people in the clinic) sent me to the dermatologist to check out this rash I had on my chest, arms, and legs. It turned out to be nothing, and it's gone now, sorta. So then I didn't have chemo on Monday, I had it on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday was not a good day because I got sick(eww) and Wednesday was ok but not great. Now I feel fine and my counts are in the process of dropping. I don't have any plans for my birthday because my counts will probably be low by thursday.

August 10, 2008 6:49pm
Well I just got home and I had sooo much fun. Hard Rock Park was fun but it was shockingly empty. Absolutely no one was there. I asked the lady at the entrance if it was always like that and she said "yep". It was fun not waiting in line. Saturday night we went to the Alabama Theater and saw this show called "one". It was really good. Tomorrow I go get an echocardiogram and have chemo(outpatient round, monday and tuesday).

August 7, 2008 4:35pm

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!!! Well in my last update I mentioned going to the beach. But not only do I get to go to the beach... I'M GOING TO HARD ROCK PARK!!!! I didn't think we were going to be able to go because on monday my platelets were only 53,000 and they have to be 100,000 to ride a roller coaster. So when I went to the clinic today Dr. Ameri said my platelets were 105,000(I nearly SCREAMED) and I asked him if I could ride a roller coaster and after he told us the story of how his cousin gave her third husband(she didn't really like that one) a heart attack on a roller coaster he said yes!!!! SO I'M GOING TO HARD ROCK PARK!!!! yayyyy

birthday: 8-21 =)

August 6, 2008 10:51 pm
My platelet count came up but not enough for chemo so my round of chemo is scheduled for monday (the 11th) and tuesday. Well I'm leaving friday(8th) morning for the beach be back sunday!!!

August 3, 2008 8:48pm
Well I was supposed to go in for an out-patient round of chemo tomorrow(monday the 4th) but for some odd reason my platelet count just won't come up. My white blood cell count is fine. So I'm not sure when I'll be able to have that round. And my mom and dad are thinking about taking us to disney world over Christmas break. I think it would be soooo much fun!!! I'm pretty sure I'll be done with chemo by then so I won't have to worry about a hectic schedule. Well my birthday is almost here YAY.

Jul 27, 2008 11:24am
Well I know I haven't been on in a while so I'm going to fill you in. The week of the 14th I had chemo in the hospital and got out the 19th. So now I'm just waiting on my counts to come up. I feel okay but not the best. And I'm so excited for my birthday(aug. 21)!! I can't wait. ** I want to thank Len and The Casual Corvettes for my AWESOME model purple corvette!!! I LOVE IT ** For all the people thinking were moving to AL, I've lived just with my mom for seven years, were not moving away from North Augusta.

July 13, 2008 at 04:01 PM EDT
I'm back. The beach was a blast!!!!! I had a great time. Whenever I get the pictures we took down there I can post them. Sad to be back. I'm going into the hospital tomorrow for a round of chemo. Wish me luck.

July 01, 2008 at 10:56 AM EDT
OH MY GOSH!!!!! I can't wait! Just thinking about the beach makes me want to jump up and run around the house!!! So to prevent myself from doing that, I'm going to go pack. I'll be like my cousin Mabrey who packed last week. Ha, poor Aunt Shay!

June 28, 2008 at 01:52 PM EDT
I haven't been on in a few days so for those of you who don't know I'm back at home. They discharged me thursday(26th) night. I feel a lot better. I can't wait till next sunday!!! I'm going to Edisto(me and Mrs. Frazier's favorite place)! But on July 3rd I think I'm going to AL for their 4th of July picnic thing. So that should be fun if I go.

June 25, 2008 at 08:26 AM EDT
Well guess what.... I'm in the hospital! I was put in yesterday around 6ish. I originally went to the clinic to get blood products because I knew I needed them. So they brought me platelets and I got half the bag and then started to break out in hives. Then Mrs. Pam(one of the nurses at the clinic) was about to de-access(take out the port needle) me, she took my temperture and it was 100.5. I knew it would go down so I demanded her to take it again and it was back to normal. But thanks to the doctors in the clinic I am here.

June 18, 2008 at 05:35 PM EDT
Well i'm done with chemo for this month. Don't feel soo bad, yet. K, well i have to go, my eyes hurt.

June 07, 2008 at 09:13 PM EDT

Well guess what! Chemo starts back on......June 16, but it is an outpatient round so only 2 days. A little bit earlier than I was hoping for but I'm ready to get it over with.

May 27, 2008 at 04:22 PM EDT

Well I start back on chemo in july. They said I have around 8 more cycles to go. So I'm halfway there.

May 21, 2008 at 08:56 PM EDT

OH MY GOSH!!!!! Today Dr. Hatley called!!! He had my pathology results!!!! So we found out that the tumor didn't have any cancer cells left, my ribs and the margins were clear, and NO RADIATION!!!! I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY! Prayers really do work. Thanks!!

May 16, 2008 at 12:51 PM EDT
Well right now i'm pretty sore, but getting ready to go to yearbook signing at my school!!!! YAY. I'm sooo excited. I'm just waiting on my mom to get out of the shower, she's a slow-poke. Remember to go to my foundation page, mlpfoundation.org to look at the clemson pictures!!

May 14, 2008 at 04:16 PM EDT
Clemson was soooo much fun! Coach Jack Leggett started a bank account, and donated all the money to my foundation! So we had $15,000 added to it. Plus $1,600 that people just donated last night!!! It was amazing! Well, I'm still sore, but improving.

May 09, 2008 at 07:55 PM EDT
well i'm home. it feels good to be back, and i'm sooooo sore!!! and tuesday i get to go to clemson!!!!!! but the surgeons got the whole tumor out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and now we are waiting on the patholgy results on the ribs.

May 03, 2008 at 04:53 PM EDT
Ok, I am finally out of ICU. They let me out Friday the 2nd. Also on Fri. Dr. Yu, the plastic surgeon, removed my J.P. Drain out of my side. It kinda stung but it had to be removed. Today hasn't been the best. I'm soooo sore. But hopefully it will get better. Dr. Hatley, my surgeon, said my chest tube will probably come out on Monday the 5th, unless it needs to come out before then. So I'm doing fine, other than the soreness.

April 30, 2008 at 08:58 PM EDT
Just wanted to reach out again and let everyone know that Mary-Louise did very well today (Wed) with her surgery. It was a very long day to say the least as she was in the OR from 11 AM until about 6PM. The Dr's continued to update us every hour and keep us informed during the whole procedure. They were able to remove the tumor and test the area surrounding it and the results were very good. We will just wait and get the results back from the ribs they removed and other common areas. We are currently in ICU until they let her move to another room, which we hope will be in a few days.

April 24, 2008 at 05:45 PM EDT
Well, today I went to the Doctor's office/clinic and we met with Dr. Hatley, the surgen doing my surgery. And also Dr. Yu, the plastic surgen helping with my surgery. So my surgery is taking place on April 30th. Next Wednesday is the BIG day!!!!! I'm sooo excitied. I'm ready to get it over with. It's going to be a pretty big operation. But they only expect me to be in the ICU for 7 to 10 days. Gosh, I can't wait!!!!

** Drive by the Sno Cap on Saturday, April 26th! 4pm-10pm

** www.mrknickerbocker.com BUY SOME SHIRTS(even if you can't stand Clemson)!

April 21, 2008 at 05:56 PM EDT
Ok, so this past weekend I went to Tennessee. It was sooo much fun. I loved seeing everybody. But we are deffinitely having my surgery here. It is probably going to be the week of the 28th. We don't have a date yet.

April 10, 2008 at 03:05 PM EDT

Ok, well it took forever to get those scans done, but I have no idea when we will get these results, but as soon as I know something I will post the info. I was supposed to check in to the hospital for my 5 day stay on Mon. but my scans took to long. Then I was supposed to go in today(Tues) but my counts weren't high enough. Then I was supposed to go in Wed. but my mom called and asked if it would be okay to wait till next Monday, and if that wasn't okay I would just go in tomorrow, but the doctors said that was a good idea b/c they are more worried about my well-being then the cancer. They are really concerned about my weight. So... it's time to get fat!!! :]

March 17, 2008 at 06:56 PM EDT
Ok, this past weekend we went to Charleston. It was good to get away. But my counts are extremely low. And I know everybody is wondering how my tumor is reacting to the chemo so I have news. I have the first body scan since my diagnosis on MONDAY at 8 am. That part I am not so happy about, it's a bit early. But other than that, I'm good.

March 11, 2008 at 05:10 PM EDT
Well today I feel better than I did. Still not the best. There's not much more to say so I'm going to watch Gilmore Girls.

March 09, 2008 at 06:40 PM EDT
Well I just had a 2 day round of out patient chemo. I feel soooo sick. I don't really feel like talking so I'm gonna go.

March 02, 2008 at 10:17 PM EST
hey guys. I am feeling great!!!!!! and the game was sooo much fun! But I would like to congratulate Keith Claussen for winning most vists to my carepage!!! an AMAZING 106 vists. unfortunately there is no prize for this award. just a job well done. and thank you to all the others who vist.

February 28, 2008 at 01:14 PM EST
I tried to update this thing, but it didn't really work so I'm sorry for not posting. But I was in the Star(newspaper). I don't know if I'm happy or what. Now I'm sure Mr. Brown is going to make all his classes read that thing. But I don't care, I guess it's a good article. It's just weird being on the front page of the paper with something so personal like that. But anyways I'm feeling fine. Not much to say except that I am going to the College of Charleston vs. Clemson baseball game on Friday the 29th! It's going to be fun. I can't wait for my next round of chemo! =]

February 13, 2008 at 09:00 PM EST
Well, I am back in this dreadful place I like to call the hospital. I am in for my 5 day stay. I checked in earlier today(2/13/08),and plan on leaving Sunday. So I will be here checking this everyday!

February 04, 2008 at 09:11 PM EST
OH MY GOSH!!!! I absolutely love everybody that goes on this website. Espically my favorite uncle, Uncle Mike :]. Every time I read a message I smile. It just makes my day. But anyways I am doing good. I get to go back to the lovely place I call the hospital on Monday! So much fun. A five day stay YAY!

Ahhhh no this place is aweful!!!!!!! But I come back tomorrow. I'm kinda tired so I think I am going to take a nap.

January 18, 2008 at 06:34 PM EST
Hey everyone. I went back to the clinic today. My counts are still low but they should come up soon. My echo went good but I really don't like that jelly! I am supposed to go back to the clinic Tues. and Wed. for out patient Chemo, but it might be delayed if my counts aren't back up. But if it is I will be having it Thurs. and Fri.

January 17, 2008 at 08:37 PM EST
Hey everyone. My counts are in the process of being low. But they will come up eventually. So I go back to the clinic tomorrow and I have to get an echo done. But thats about it.

January 13, 2008 at 11:10 PM EST
Hey guys. Okay, here's the deal I am at home now but on Wednesday I start going to the clinic every other day so they can check my blood counts. But I am not sure when my next stay in the hospital will be my parents haven't told me. But I will keep everyone updated.

January 08, 2008 at 04:57 PM EST
Okay! I am back in the hospital for a round of medicine. But I get to go home on Friday if everything goes well! So lets hope so! I have nothing more to say but if anything happens I will post an update.

Also today our grandparents from NY came down, along with our Uncle Mike (he thinks he is mlp's best friend. yeahhhh.)***oh, if you havent figured out already mlp stands from Mary-Louise. We all just call her mlp when typing. its easier.*** okay, back to mlp's day. Since I've gotten here its been pretty crazy. A couple of her friends came down for a little while to visit. GUESS WHAT?! Mary-Louise walked for the first time today! She went for a stroll around the hospital today! YAY MARY-LOUISE! she was quite excited! instead of using a walker to support her she pushes around a wheel chair! lol. mlp is staying positive through all of this. and whenever im around she just can't stop laughing! :) haha, well her friends being around probably is part of it too! well that's all for right now, that i can remember. Ill be back later! Until then keep sending messages! Mary-Louise loves them! Hey Mrs. Frazier! Thanks to everyone for all the support we really appreciate it!
